The first Web3 data provider in a top Web2 analytics platform – Microsoft Fabric integrates Space and Time, and Microsoft Azure OneLake users now gain access to real-time, cryptographically verified on-chain data for Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Sui.
More on the Capabilities and Significance of the Microsoft Fabric and Space and Time Integration
Microsoft Fabric is an extremely powerful analytics platform that unifies Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics, and Power BI into a single environment.
Space and Time, in turn, is building a similar infrastructure for Web3 and provides tools that connect traditional cloud databases with the on-chain logic of smart contracts. It uses zero-knowledge proofs and a decentralized network of database validators, recently launched a public permissionless mainnet, and offers a sub-second ZK coprocessor called Proof of SQL – a component that enables cryptographically verifiable SQL queries.
This integration is positioned as a standalone product within Microsoft Fabric, enabling its users to access real-time, verifiable data feeds for Bitcoin, Sui, and Ethereum directly via Microsoft Azure OneLake.

Microsoft Fabric Principal Product Manager Sruly Taber noted that this integration aligns with the mission:
“to democratize technology across diverse industries, including Web3. It’s a commitment to providing tools that enhance productivity and drive innovation at a global scale.”
Space and Time CEO Nate Holiday, in turn, emphasized the strategic nature of the integration:
“Direct integration and product offering in Fabric is not revenue driver or expense.”
So what does this all mean? We are seeing a direct and secure integration of Web3 data into Microsoft’s most advanced and widely used analytics platform, including support for both private investors and enterprises. Now, in one place, users get a full set of advanced data tools for both Web2 and Web3–bridging a gap in countless scenarios where parallel infrastructure was previously required.

Conclusion
If giants like Microsoft are making moves, despite their scale and risk profile, that’s a strong signal for Web3 adoption. This transformation may not happen as crypto enthusiasts hope – a full replacement of Web2 by Web3 – but rather as a merge of Web2 and Web3 companies and solutions. If the largest tech players increasingly adopt this strategy, others will likely follow, and hybrid systems may become the new standard.
