The notorious Hyperliquid trader and well-known crypto personality James Wynn has done it again. Yesterday, we reported how Wynn made another extremely risky investment, betting $100 million in a BTC long position, under 40x leverage.
This investment was made only a couple of days after Wynn liquidated another $100 million in a similar bet. However, his attempts to make up for his losses didn’t go his way.
Wynn entered his latest trade when BTC traded at around $105,800. Given the massive size of the investment and the 40x leverage, the investor could have made massive profits if things had gone his way.
The high leverage also meant Wynn had very little ground for mistakes. If Bitcoin dropped to $104,720 — only around a thousand dollars less than the investment’s entry point — James Wynn would see his multi-million dollar position liquidated.
Unfortunately for him, the market decided to go against this courageous investor. Only a couple of minutes ago, Bitcoin touched the $104,720 price—completely liquidating Wynn’s $100 million position.
Overall, James Wynn managed to fumble generational wealth — over $200 million — in one week. On Twitter, the crypto influencer blamed “market manipulation” as a reason why his positions are liquidated.
