Part of this popularity was inherited by its recurring pro-cryptocurrency plans and talks of less regulation in the sectors. Also, the GOP became a reasonable alternative to Democrats, who were largely seen as opposing the development of digital assets in the U.S. 

The campaign period was marked by several statements by the former President that directly involved the cryptocurrency sector. To mention just a brief of it, Trump thoroughly talked about making the United States the “crypto capital of the world”, ending SEC crackdowns on Web3 firms, and creating a large reserve of Bitcoin in America.

According to Arkham Intelligence, the President-elect owns over $16 million in digital assets. Interestingly, Trump appears to be quite the memecoin connoisseur, with most of his holdings being allocated in memecoins inspired by Trump himself.

Trump holds over $10,000,000 in Trog (TROG), a memecoin going by the name of “Trog the Trump Frog”. With a modest market capitalization of only $20 million, the frog-inspired currency has been out of the radar up until now. As news spread of the President’s holding in this memecoin $TROG has already skyrocketed in value, gaining over 58% in value in the previous hours.

Donald also owns about $1.7 million in MAGA (TRUMP), Ether (ETH), and Wrapped Ether (WETH). Aside from that, the President also owns $549k in Gua (GUA), and $217.5k in Trumpius (TRUMPIUS).
