Nick Szabo Conquers Len Sassaman as Likely Satoshi Nakamoto on Polymarket
- HBO's documentary about the alleged Satoshi Nakamoto is set to air at 2:00 am UTC on Oct. 9
- Meanwhile, betting continues on Polymarket with Nick Szabo leading with 27.9% odds
- In second place is Len Sassaman with a significant 14%, while the others are under 10%
The debate over who Satoshi Nakamoto is has been going on for years and the probabilities of the candidates are constantly changing.
This is well demonstrated by the betting odds on Polymarket, which recently underwent a change ahead of the upcoming HBO movie about Satoshi Nakamoto.
Now most opinions are converging on Nick Szabo, who has surpassed Len Sassaman while Adam Back and the rest are lagging further behind.
Details on the Satoshi Candidates
The HBO documentary will be released as early as October 9, and this has greatly influenced the choice of who Satoshi Nakamoto might be.
Earlier, Len Sassaman was leading with 68%, but after comments made by producer Cullen Hoback on CNN on Oct. 7 that he confronted who he thinks is the real Satoshi Nakamoto in person, things changed. 7 that he confronted who he thinks is the real Satoshi Nakamoto in person, everything changed.
Unfortunately, Len Sassaman died in 2011 and his widow said that she was never approached about the movie, making it impossible that Cullen Hoback would have picked it.
So the odds have dropped to 14% on Len Sassaman, but have risen to 27.9% on Nick Szabo, the inventor of the failed Bit Gold crypto network.
Also, bets remain on Blockstream CEO Adam Back at 4.3%, Hal Finney - an American software developer who received the first Bitcoin transaction from Nakamoto who passed in 2014. Finney has 2.7% and jailed software programmer Paul Le Roux boasts 2.8% odds.
The movie's producer said that:
"We make a strong case and I think their reaction is in some ways more telling than even the evidence itself."
He also added:
"It’s important for the public to have a sense of who might be, particularly if they’re still involved"
However, Nick Szabo insists he is not the creator of Bitcoin, but do you think he would say otherwise, with Satoshi Nakamoto obviously not wanting to be revealed?
In his most recent email from 13 years ago, he said, "I have moved on to other things."
Conclusion
With only a short wait for the movie's release, perhaps HBO conducted an exhaustive investigation regarding Satoshi Nakamoto's true identity.
However, can this be indisputable evidence until Satoshi announces himself and provides his proof?
Stay tuned.
